The Scotcoin Project CIC will be levying a fee for migrating from Counter Party Protocol (V2) to Ethereum Token (V3) as of February 1st, 2022. The period for migration to qualify for the bonus was initially planned to close on October 31st, 2020 and was extended to November 2020. We have continued to migrate holders for a year thereafter at no charge. However, in view of the increasing gas fees, the decision has been taken to extend the free migration period to midnight, January 31st, 2022. From February 1st, 2022 a flat fee of .009ETH will be required before we will migrate your Scotcoin.
Ethereum transaction fees have risen dramatically alongside the price of Ethereum itself. This makes a charge unavoidable for those seeking to move from V2 to V3. Commented Scotcoin Project CIC director, Temple Melville: ‘The cost of the sending of new tokens to registered holders has risen hugely, and in a detrimental manner in respect of our work with charities. The money saved will be put to better use than going to Ethereum miners. After 1st February 2022, you will still be able to migrate as you do now, but there will be a charge to cover both the work involved and the gas fees.’ The flat-fee will be irrespective of the size of holding.
