Identity Checks

Permissioned Blockchain

Currently Scotcoin works on the Bitcoin blockchain using the counterparty protocol.  As a mined currency, transaction are slower than other methods of payment, such as credit or debit cards.

Scotcoin plans to move to its own permissioned blockchain in 2018 – which will be compliant with the Financial Conduct Authority’s Anti Money Laundering Regulations by verifying the identity of each purchaser of Scotcoin.  Essentially our checks are to make sure each transaction is KYC checked (Know Your Customer).
